Dispatch Timelines & Cut-offs:
  • India Post (Gyan Post & Contractual Parcel): Orders confirmed before 12:00 PM (Noon) are dispatched on the same working day. Bookings placed after 12:00 PM are handed over on the next postal working day. Timelines vary on postal holidays, national holidays, and Sundays.
  • Private Express Couriers (A2Z Choice): Orders confirmed before 2:00 PM are normally dispatched on the same working day, subject to operational availability.

Courier partners are dynamically selected based on destination PIN code, serviceability, chargeable weight, operational availability, delivery requirements and other applicable shipping conditions.

🏢 No Automated Warehouse Pickup: Unlike standard private couriers that collect consignments directly from our facility, India Post’s Gyan Post scheme does not provide automated doorstep pickups.
🚶 Manual In-Person Counter Lodgement: Every single shipment requires an on-site team member to physically visit the Post Office commercial hub, wait in queue at the counter, and present parcels for individual verification.
📑 Registered Barcoding & Transit: Consignments are individually weighed, postmarked, and entered into the postal tracking register to generate official tracking numbers.
💡 Cost Offset: The nominal ₹5 to ₹17 handling fee directly accounts for transit expenses, manual queue wait-time, and dedicated counter submission operations.
SPECIAL POSTAL SERVICE India Post Gyan Post Key Guidelines
📌 Pan-India Validity: Flat rates apply uniformly to any destination across India via surface mode.
📖 Eligible Content: Academic textbooks, syllabus books, competitive exam guides, and religious/cultural literature.
📄 Inclusions: Purchase invoice or retail book bill can be safely enclosed inside the parcel.
⚖️ Weight Limits: Min. booking weight is 300g; max. single parcel booking limit is 5 kg.
🚚 Tracking & Marking: Fully trackable parcel. Must be clearly marked with "GYAN POST" on the outer label.

Note: Prepaid benchmark rates inclusive of 18% GST. Actual live charges depend on chargeable weight, destination PIN code, and chosen delivery partner at checkout.

Cash on Delivery (COD) – Essential Terms

Partial Advance Payment Option
🚫 Important Carrier Rule: India Post Gyan Post is an exclusively prepaid book postal service and does not support Cash on Delivery (COD). COD is available through all other eligible shipping channels.

1. How Does Cash on Delivery (Partial Advance) Work?

When selecting Cash on Delivery (COD) on A2Z Book Hub, a nominal Advance / Cash Handling & Courier Fee is payable online (via UPI, Cards, or Net Banking) to confirm your order. The remaining order balance must be paid directly to the courier delivery executive upon arrival.

💡 Example: For an order value of ₹1,500, an advance fee of ₹99 is paid online during checkout to confirm dispatch, and the remaining ₹1,401 is payable to the delivery agent.

2. Why Is a Cash Handling & Courier Fee Charged?

Cash on Delivery shipments incur significant additional overheads from logistics carriers and third-party cash processing services, including secure transit, physical cash reconciliation, and return shipping (RTO) risks. This nominal advance offsets operational handling expenses and deters frivolous or fraudulent bookings.

Once the shipment has been booked with the courier partner or dispatched from our fulfillment facility, the online COD advance fee is strictly Non-Refundable in the following events:

❌ Customer Unavailability: Repeatedly unanswered phone calls or absence at the destination address during delivery attempts.
❌ Inaccurate Address: Providing incomplete destination details, wrong postal PIN codes, or invalid phone numbers.
❌ Post-Dispatch Cancellation: Requesting order cancellation after the shipment has already been handed over to the courier.
